Well, I got my wish. We finally dried out a little after an unusually wet June. Whether that lasts is anybody's guess, but for now it looks like we're heading into the kind of heat and humidity we'd normally expect this time of year. Forecasts are pointing toward hotter afternoons, higher humidity, and fewer widespread rains as high pressure settles back over Southeast Texas. We'll probably still catch the occasional afternoon thunderstorm, but many of us may go a while between meaningful soaking rains. Healthy soil acts like a savings account. Every good rain infiltrates deeper, feeds the biology underground, and stores water that plants can draw from later. Poor soils, on the other hand, tend to shed water, become compacted, or dry into concrete the first week the rain stops. One of our biggest goals is helping your soil become the kind that holds onto every inch of rain it gets while still being able to breathe. What We’re Focused on This Month In July, we're focused on supporting healthy summer growth while helping plants prepare for what is usually the most stressful part of the year. Earlier this spring, our focus was on waking up the soil, encouraging microbial activity, and building stronger root systems. That work doesn't stop now. We're simply shifting toward maintaining healthy growth while continuing to feed the living soil underneath. You'll notice we're still bringing nitrogen, but less of it and not in the same way as a conventional fertilizer company. Rather than relying on repeated heavy doses of synthetic fertilizer, we're pairing moderate nutrition with living biology, humic materials, and carbon sources that help the soil retain and cycle those nutrients naturally. You may notice a mild fish smell during application—that's completely normal and it goes away pretty quickly. If we've recently treated your property, don't be surprised if you begin noticing richer color and steadier growth over the next couple of weeks. Healthy soil often responds a little more gradually, but the goal is growth that's more resilient, longer lasting, and better prepared for July and August, not just a quick burst of green. July is usually where we begin to see the payoff from the work we've been doing since early spring.
